Exodus President on NPR & Janet Parshall's America Today
Alan Chambers,
President of Exodus International, will be on two nationally syndicated shows
with drastically different outlooks on the issue of homosexuality. National
Public Radio's show Fresh Air with Terry Gross will interview Chambers on
the topic of faith, sexuality and change. Chambers will also join Christian
broadcaster Janet Parshall today to discuss the Foley scandal and the moral
schizophrenia that exists in America.
Chambers notes that
the ex-gay movement is growing and reaching greater, more diverse audiences
through interviews such as these. Exodus International has added education and
training programs for pastors, church leaders and youth workers desiring to
approach this issue with compassion and biblical truth. Since its inception in
1976, the organization has grown to include more than 150 member agencies,
therapists and churches within its network that offer help to the over 400,000
people who contact them each year.
Alan Chambers has
recently authored the book God's Grace and the Homosexual Next Door — a
guide to helping evangelicals reach out to hurting individuals in the gay
community.
