"On the day the controversial film "Brokeback Mountain" was lauded with eight Oscar nominations, a former homosexual sounded the alarm about the dangers such a film can pose to society when it only tells half the story about the experience of homosexuals in American culture.
"The real truth is that those who struggle with homosexuality, like the two lead characters in 'Brokeback Mountain,' can leave homosexuality and the pain and emptiness that so often accompanies it," Mike Haley, director of gender issues for Focus on the Family, said in a news release Jan. 31.
