[email protected] BOSTON - The state's highest court will rule on a bid by a Roman Catholic leader to halt same-sex marriages in Massachusetts until completion of a process to change the state's constitution to outlaw the unions.
The seven-member state Supreme Judicial Court is scheduled to conduct a hearing on the case May 2 in Boston, almost a year after homosexual and lesbian marriages began in Massachusetts. It is the only state where they are legal.
