The gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and allies’ community will not silence themselves on April 13. In lieu of wearing red arm bands for the National Day of Silence the GLBTA is starting a t-shirt campaign.
“Essentially, I decided to do that because the GLBTA community is silenced 365 days a year and the best way to get your message out is to say it loud and clear,” said Rachel Platt, a GLBTA full-time intern. The t-shirts which say, “Gay? Fine by me,” in white writing are available in both men and women’s sizes. The free red, black or navy t-shirts are being passed out at 8 a.m. until supplies last or until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bookie, the CUB and the Glenn Terrell Mall, Platt said. |
