I am constantly amazed at the amount of double speak that is used to confuse the issue of homosexuality. I watch Dr. Phil and others like him, and hear them counsel parents about their toxic emotional effect on their kids concerning issues like divorce, drugs, suicide, and obesity. I hear them say that children or adults with those issues should look inside themselves and take charge of unhealthy behaviors. Then I hear them say to gays and parents with gay children that they should realize they were "born that way." Insinuating that environment and early childhood trauma have nothing to do with sexual identity. I hear them say that gay persons should accept their sexuality and stop trying to overcome this profoundly unhealthy experience. What are they thinking? Parents must know the world their kids are growing up in. Parents must be pro-active when it comes to the input that society and especially media have on their kids. -NSB

CINCINNATI, May 28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- MTV's recent announcement that it plans to launch a network aimed primarily at lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender viewers underscores the reason parents should be able to choose the contents of their basic cable package. The advertiser-supported network, named LOGO, will be offered to cable customers in their basic cable package, giving parents no choice whether or not the content enters their home.

"A channel devoted entirely to promoting the homosexual agenda is in direct opposition to the values many parents seek to instill in their children," noted Rick Schatz, president and CEO of the National Coalition for the Protection of Children & Families. "Consumers deserve the ability to choose whether or not they want to pay for such a channel in their home."

Curves, the Texas-based fitness franchise that has been popping up all over the country, was in the headlines recently because of the pro-life beliefs of its owner Gary Heavin. The usual suspects were calling for blood because Heavin dared to give his own money to organizations that do not perform or promote abortions. Ruth Rosen and Jon Carroll of the Chronicle both produced hysterically inaccurate columns on the subject, which eventually led to an embarrassing correction on the part of the newspaper. But it is an entirely different matter that makes Curves the subject of today’s column.

I joined one of the Curves in San Francisco several months ago and have been happily working out and losing pounds ever since. I was attracted to the Curves concept, which includes an all-female environment. At least that’s what I thought until I went in to work out last week and a man popped up on the machine next to me. He was wearing a skirt-like item over his workout pants and had the look (which I’ve become all too familiar with living in this city) of a wannabee female. But for all intents and purposes, this was a guy. And when he changed back into his regular clothes (in the dressing room shared by women), he looked like any other man on the street.

The owner quietly assured me that he was a ''transvestite,'' as if that would explain everything. It didn’t. Apparently, I wasn’t alone in my confusion, because other women starting asking questions as soon as ''he'' left. After telling us that he usually attends another Curves and was just visiting for the day, the owner added that, ''he doesn’t want to make any of the women uncomfortable.'' To which, I piped up that he did indeed make me ''uncomfortable.'' No doubt shaken by my audacity in bucking the ''transgender'' orthodoxy of San Francisco, the owner looked surprised. But I pursued the matter and came away with some interesting information.

(CNSNews.com) - A group that lobbies against the ban on homosexuals in the military says this week's campaign to change minds in Washington was a success.

More than 60 veterans and activists from 22 states "stormed" Capitol Hill on Tuesday, urging lawmakers to repeal the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, Servicemembers Legal Defense Network said in a press release.

The group called its second annual lobby day "the largest organized effort" relating to "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" since the military adopted the policy in 1993, at the behest of President Bill Clinton.

In all, twenty-two state delegations met with over ninety Congressional offices, Republican and Democratic, from both the House and Senate, Servicemembers Legal Defense Network said. "Last year, fourteen state delegations met with fifty congressional offices.

I would like to respond to the recent column written by Deb Price in which she states that same-sex marriage is a natural progression of society advancement. I would contend that Ms. Price's viewpoint is a reflection of a society that has lost its moral direction and has regressed to depravity.

As we have seen in print, and watched and heard through the media, representatives of the gay community recite the endless irrelevant facts that cloud the truth of the real issue, which is: Are we as a society willing to legalize and legitimize abnormal behavior? Gay individuals choose their sexual preference. They are not born that way, as science has clearly proven through extensive research. The sexual acts that they indulge themselves in are clearly abnormal and unnatural. There are no examples to my knowledge that any society or species can or has survived when homosexuality flourishes.

As a Christian man I am totally offended by Ms. Price's misuse of Scripture. Her deletion of so many verses that denounce this type of behavior seems to give evidence of her lack of wisdom or was it merely a purposeful omission. She misrepresents the Founding Fathers in regards to their opinion, not constitutional precept, on the separation of church and state, which was clearly written to keep government from dictating laws under the guise of the word of God. References to non-biblical churches blessing unions only further demonstrates how desperate the homosexual community truly is to be accepted. Her use of polling numbers to legitimize a position cannot be accepted as fact. We are all quite aware of the flaws in the methodology.
