Small minds can be outgrown

In the mid-19th century, Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote, "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." A writer named Lance Morrow in an online column for Time Magazine in July 2000 put it another way: "Orthodoxy tends to make people lazy, stale and stupid."
